Whether you are a recent college or high school grad you are taking the next transition into your life. It’s a season of new beginnings and fresh starts.
Right now, you might feel so many emotions at once. One day you’re excited, the next a little anxious and nervous about the next step and then back to excitement again. It’s all totally normal!
Use the summer to clear your mind, work on yourself and celebrate your accomplishments and hard work.
Here are five tips to help you refresh and renew this summer. Oh, and welcome to adulthood from your friends at ScholarUp!
You have worked so hard to walk across that stage and turn that tassel! Take some time to relax and go on vacation. #Treatyoself! You deserve it.
2. Take up a new hobby:
Take that painting class you have been thinking about, try that new yoga place around the corner or dive into that DIY project you've been eyeing on YouTube. Explore new things and discover new talents that you have been putting off because you were so busy with school.
3. Clean up your social media profiles:
New opportunities, jobs, internships and more are on the horizon. Skim through your social media profiles and remove any posts that could be questionable or deemed inappropriate. Companies and schools are turning to social media to get to know you before they even meet you. They want to see what your interests are, how you present yourself and if you are actively involved online.
4. Brush up your resume:
Is your resume outdated? Resumes in 2017 are straight to the point. *Tip: Start your resume with a strong executive summary listing all of your strengths.
5. Create a LinkedIn account:
Create or update your LinkedIn account. LinkedIn is the new digital resume. Recruiters are actively searching for future employees and interns on LinkedIn. You can apply for most positions in one click. Don't count yourself out by not having a profile. *Tip: Use an appropriate headshot for your LinkedIn account. No selfies! Professional photog not in your budget? Put on a nice dress shirt and have a friend take your profile picture for you.
